On Sunday, October 16, 2016, at 5 pm, 88 Block Walks and Kaka’ako Our Kuleana present Walk #4: “Papers in the Park”, a walking tour of Mother Waldron Park featuring student observations of early and mid 20th century life in Kaka’ako.
On Friday, September 18, 2015, Worldwide PARK(ing) Day, thousands of public parking spaces worldwide will temporarily transform into public spaces, including nine "parks" in Downtown Honolulu and Kakaʻako. 88 Block Walks will lead tours of the Kaka'ako parklets every hour from 12-3 pm, departing from the Better Block Hawaii Parklet in front of This Is It Bakery (443 Cooke St).
As part of Interisland Terminal’s JUNE KABOOM program at Kaka’ako Agora, 88 Block Walks presents Walk #2: Voices, a site-specific installation and walking tour featuring oral histories of early 20th century life in Kaka'ako.
For its inaugural event, 88 Block Walks—in collaboration with The Value of Hawaiʻi II and the Honolulu Museum of Art—is pleased to present a discussion of streams in Hawai‘i. Led by Sean Connelly, Walk #1: ‘Streams,’ is an examination of Honolulu’s channelized stream network.
